Colorado wildfire response at Level 2 as recovery posture remains at Level 1

Colorado’s State Emergency Operations Center is operating at response Level 2 while the state’s recovery posture remains at Level 1, with the State Recovery Task Force activated, according to the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s July 27 status report.
The report’s 8 a.m. figures list the Aspen Acre Fire in Custer and Pueblo counties at 101,921 acres and 66% containment.
Recovery assistance
The report lists a Recovery Assistance Center at Beulah Heights Elementary, 2670 Delphinium St. in Pueblo, open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. It says DHSEM is leading joint preliminary damage assessments scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday; the report does not say those assessments have occurred.
The state directs residents to Colorado 211, the Colorado Disaster Recovery Hub, county recovery pages and voluntary organizations for disaster assistance. It also lists Crisis Cleanup and Airbnb.org transitional housing, with initial stays of up to 10 days for eligible individuals or families. Residents should check 211 or county emergency-management information for eligibility, hours and services before traveling.
The report says state-level community lifelines are stable but does not provide a statewide total of displaced people or a county-by-county inventory of food, water and shelter disruptions. That finding should not be read as confirmation that every community has stable access to those services.
