Louisville collected $22.94 million in combined taxes through August, about $3.4 million (17.6%) above budget and 18.9% above the same period last year, the city’s cumulative revenue table reports.

August sales-tax collections were $2,185,837, up 20.9% from August 2025. Through August, gross sales-tax revenue was $16,969,327 — $1,700,105, or 11.1%, above budget and $1,970,020, or 13.1%, above the same period last year, the Finance Committee staff report says.

The cumulative table lists sales tax after subtracting an estimated $126,502 refund, for a total of $16,842,825, or 10.3% above budget. It lists combined taxes at $22,938,473, or 17.6% above budget. A separate revenue-history table gives the gross combined-tax total as $23,064,975, before subtracting the estimated refund.

A September staff update, based on July revenue data, projected the General Fund would be at structural balance in 2027 and within about $200,000 of balance in 2028. The October revenue materials do not provide a revised forecast.

The report was scheduled for the Finance Committee’s Oct. 15 agenda, with staff recommending that members receive and file it.
