Moss Rock Development says construction will not begin in 2026 on its proposed hotel at 343–347 Main Street in Lyons, despite an agreement deadline of Dec. 16, 2026.

In a Sept. 14 update included in the Lyons Urban Renewal Authority’s October meeting packet, Moss Rock attributed the delay to sharply increased building costs. It said it was pursuing a more aggressive redesign while reviewing market data and investor interest.

A 2025 amendment moved the agreement’s construction-start deadline from Dec. 16, 2025, to Dec. 16, 2026. The owners’ separate target to choose a design and model and seek a permit by December concerns design and permitting; it does not change the construction-start deadline.
