Boulder County Housing Authority board approves $956,189 rapid-rehousing grant renewal
The renewal will fund housing assistance and supportive services for families and transition-age youth experiencing homelessness in 2027, with a $239,047 local match.
The Boulder County Housing Authority Board of Directors approved a renewal of a $956,189 federal rapid-rehousing grant for families and transition-age youth experiencing homelessness, along with a required $239,047 local match, for the 2027 program year.
The board approved the renewal as part of a three-item consent agenda during its Sept. 15 meeting. The meeting recording shows members approving the agenda by motion, second and voice vote; the renewal was not considered separately.
The renewal covers the federal Continuum of Care Rapid Re-housing Program from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027. Boulder County Housing Authority and the Metro Denver Housing Initiative use the OneHome coordinated-entry system to prioritize participants. The program is intended to help participants stabilize their housing for at least six months after leaving the program, enroll in benefits such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medicaid and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and connect with job-training and education opportunities aimed at increasing household income, the county’s agenda and supporting materials say.
The federal award budget includes $806,052 for rental assistance, $145,137 for supportive services and $5,000 for administrative costs, the grant materials state. The local match, equal to 25% of the federal award, will come from the Housing Authority’s Housing Stabilization Program Affordable and Attainable Housing Tax fund, Fund 152.
