Boulder’s Planning Board is scheduled to review the Academy’s concept for its parcel, which includes the Irish ball fields, on Nov. 17. The review will be the board’s first opportunity to give feedback as city officials seek to keep the fields available for community recreation, Parks and Recreation Director Ellie Rhodes told the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board on Oct. 26.
The Academy owns the parcel, and no final agreement preserves the fields for public use, Rhodes said. The city has discussed buying the fields, but staff have not identified funding if the Academy charges a fee.
Rhodes said staff are working through options and plan to meet with Academy representatives again in December, after they can respond to feedback from the Planning Board.
